THE PLACE: HOME TO CONTEMPORARY DANCE IN LONDON

I attended a dance class tonight at The Place in west central London.  The center, which has been open for 40 years, focuses its classes on modern and ballet technique, and offers both drop-in and three month long courses.  The Place also offers artist development, children's classes, professional classes, choreography development, performance opportunities and workshops.  Within The Place there are 11 studios and the Robin Howard Dance Theater, a 300 seat theater which offers a year round program of contemporary dance performances.   The Place is also home to the London Contemporary Dance School and the Richard Alston Dance Company.  So far I have only taken Phil Hill's Level 2 Cunningham-based class, but from that experience alone, I highly recommend this studio!  It is truly a phenomenal place.
