Last night I had the privilege of attending a performance by the students of The Royal Ballet School with my boyfriend's mom (thank you, Jane!). The performance was held at the breathtakingly beautiful former Royal Hunting Lodge, The White Lodge, which has been home to The Royal Ballet School since 1955. The setting is stunning and takes you back in time. Set in the 2,5000 acre Richmond Park, The Royal Ballet School is surrounded by lush trees, deer, meadows and the river. The performance was enchanting. Students from ages 11-16 danced in a variety of exerts from classics such as Coppelia and La Sylphide to more modern pieces that were choreographed for the students. After the performance, we had the pleasure of mingling and speaking with the students about their experience living and training at the school. It was a truly special evening, and one I will never forget.
