Tonight I'm headed out for a night of traditional Scottish dancing, which I'm sure I'll love, and traditional Scottish food, which I'm sure I'll hate. As much as I love food, haggis, neeps and tatties are not on my list of favorites. The reason for this outing? Burns Night, an evening of celebration for the poet, Robert Burns. Although I'd never heard of it before, it is apparently a big thing here. Every year on his birthday, Scots and ex-pats honor Burns' memory by eating, drinking and dancing. Should be fun.
